With each new season comes the opportunity to refresh your home. As the sun gets brighter, it’s only natural to want to brighten your spaces during the spring season. A spring refresh is easier than it may seem, and I’m sharing how to tackle any room with some simple (and affordable) additions!

How to Start a Spring Refresh

Updating your home for spring doesn’t have to be a big overhaul. Start by looking at your favorite Home Goods stores or even Target or H&M. A lot of times, you can find things in store that you wouldn’t online. It’s also great to be able to see the actual size of items so you can visualize them in the space you have in mind. The other way is also true, where there are many options available online that you might not find in stores. With such easy return policies with stores like Target, this makes shopping online less risky and perfect for trying out different pieces to see which ones fit in your home.

Trade One In, Take One Out

A spring refresh can easily be accomplished by swapping out only a few things! Trade in your fall and winter colors for lighter, more refreshing hues. For pillows, it’s great to layer in some lighter colors with staple pieces that are white, beige, or gray. You can also use some texture to create interest in aesthetics.

For some greenery, it’s always great to use clippings from right outside your door! Grab a new vase or two to add some of your spring garden new arrivals. You can also use faux stems that mimic budding trees and seasonal flowers.

If you have bookshelves, end tables, or a dining table, adding a brass accent can easily bring a spring feel. Brass pieces can range from $10-$200, depending on the size and quality. Adding brass creates a sense of warmth and depth to any space!

A few other ideas for simple spring refresh items would be to swap out frames on art pieces. If you have black or brown frames, changing them to white or gold is a great way to brighten a room. You can also add accents like textured bowls draped with beads or a new lamp shade.

The End Result

Simple swaps create an achievable way to evolve your home decor through the seasons. By simply adding to your staple favorites, you can mix and match as the days change. Not only is it easy to do, but affordable as well! Remember, a spring refresh doesn’t have to be a big overhaul. Simply adding pieces that match your aesthetic but with lighter, brighter hues can create a warmth in your home perfect for spring!
